What is Semaglutide?

 

Semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy) is an FDA approved, weight loss medication that is offered by injection or oral sublingual. By mimicking a hormone in the body Semaglutide increases insulin secretion while slowing down how fast your stomach empties food. This suppresses your appetite, so you feel full longer, helping you eat less and lose weight.

 

Semaglutide was initially approved in 2017 at a lower dose to help control blood sugar and type 2 diabetes. People taking Semaglutide for blood sugar control, lose weight as an additional benefit. After studying a higher amount of medication and people without type 2 diabetes, the FDA approved Semaglutide weight loss in qualified adults.

 

Who is a Candidate for Semaglutide?

 

To determine whether you are a good candidate for weight loss with Semaglutide, the licensed physicians at Living Well Wellness will assess the extent of you being overweight.  Adults can use Semaglutide with a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 27 as long as you are experiencing high blood pressure, high cholesterol or type 2 diabetes.  If you have a BMI of 30 + you would qualify even without having another weight related condition.

Semaglutide  should be combined with lifestyle changes, including a healthy diet and exercise. However, these measures are not necessary to lose weight while taking Semaglutide.

Gastrointestinal (GI) side effects are most common when taking this medication, especially after increasing the dose.  Th most common side effects include the following:

Vomiting

Constipation

Stomach Pain

Headache

Fatigue

Indigestion

Dizziness

Bloating

Burping

Anyone with personal or family history of some thyroid cancers should not use Semaglutide.

Labwork Needed Before You Can Start Semaglutide:

 

The followings lab work will be required prior to staring our Semaglutide weight loss program. If you have had lab work within the last 12 months that lab work can be used to start the program.

CMP Lab (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)

How do you Start Taking Semaglutide for Weight Loss and What is the Cost?

 

The cost of our Semaglutide weight loss injection program is 

 

$450 per month for the first 3 months 

*Current promotion for 90 days at the start of the program for $1099 

After the first 90 days the program cost remains $450 per month

 

We also offer Oral Semaglutide and the cost is

$799 for the 1st 60 days then

$499 per month or

$1250 for 90 days

This will include your doctor visits plus the medication and supplies shipped directly to your home. You will then inject or take orally the physician prescribed dose at home once weekly as directed by the physician.

To get started with our Semaglutide weight loss program we will need to review your lab work and medical history.  If you have lab work that has been completed within the last 12 months we can use the results or if you need lab work we can order the labs for you.  For your medical history please print, fill out and email back the pdf attachment below or if you prefer you can also arrive a few minutes early for your appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork.  Once your lab work is complete or if you already have results please submit the results to Living Well Wellness.  Once your lab work is reviewed a representative from Living Well Wellness will give you a call to schedule your first consultation with our US licensed physicians.  After your consultation you will be scheduled with a follow up visit and your medication and supplies will be shipped directly to your home.
